In additional to Gold Legacy, Professor Lewis has served as a Visiting Lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and is currently serving an appointment as Part-Time Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering Sciences, University of Ghana, Legon. Professor Lewis has a long association with Ghana, having first arrived in 1994 with academic colleagues to establish linkages with the University of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, University of Cape Coast, and Aid to Artisans Ghana (ATAG). In 1995, Professor Lewis was awarded a six month scholarly sabbatical from North Carolina State University, hosted by ATAG. Professor Lewis was instrumental in establishing the ATAG Media Lab with funding support from USAID and the Ford Foundation. He created and taught a series of digital 3D design courses and conceived and executed design projects serving the artisans community. Professor Lewis was the first to introduce 3D digital Jewelry design courses, integrating rapid prototyping technology with high precision 3D printing systems. Professor Lewis is now focusing on projects in Ghana, seeking to expand the boundaries of creative design and technology as Ghanaian businesses strive to develop world-class business-solutions and products in order to compete on an international scale.
